History of the Long Beach Area Peace Network

The Long Beach Area Peace Network (LBAPN, pronounced "l'boppin") organizes for peace and civil liberties in the community. We have maintained a peace vigil continuously since September 2002.

We are heir to a long tradition of peace and justice activism in the Long Beach area. We re-organized in the Spring of 1999, in the wake of Clinton's bombing of Afghanistan and the Sudan, and in anticipation of the war in the Balkans. We are commited to creating awareness and showing commitment to peace at every level. We demand peace in our world, our streets, our schools, our homes, and our hearts. Violence is not the answer!

We meet every third Thursday of the month at Grace United Methodist Church 2325 E Third Street, Long Beach, CA 90814 at 7:00 p.m. There is free parking and everyone is welcome!
